March 2024

  • Dr Raviraj Vankayala received the recognition of Rising Star in Biological, Medicinal, and Pharmaceutical Chemistry by American Chemical Society (ACS) Bio & Med Chem Au.

​

  • Ms Sarmistha Mazumder was invited to present the highlights of her work at the Annual PMRF Symposium held at IIT Indore. She presented a poster on ''Light Activatable Biomimetic Nanoparticles for Combinatorial Therapy of Oropharyngeal Cancer." Biomimetic nanosystems offer promising avenues in disease management and treatment by integrating synthetic materials and natural components. She received the best poster award in the broad area of Interdisciplinary areas in science & technology.

  • At the Annual PMRF Symposium held in IIT Indore, Ms Antony Vincy presented her work  titled '' Exploring multifunctional borophene theranostic nanoplatform to combat ovarian cancer."

​

  • Dr Raviraj Vankayala has been appointed as an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Drug Delivery Journal.

December 2023

​

  • At BioTex’23 conference in IIT Delhi, Ms Netra Hiremath delivered an oral talk on “Near Infrared Light Activatable Niosomes Loaded with Indocyanine Green and Plasmonic Gold Nanorods for Cancer Theranostic Applications”. The talk was based on the NIR-responsive novel theranostic platform developed for cancer treatment. Such theranostic platforms can provide a significant benchmark in the improved diagnosis and therapeutic capabilities for biomedical clinicians to tackle various diseases

​

  • The Nanomed Lab has received the Core Research Grant funding from SERB on "Molecularly Engineered Free Standing Borophene as a Versatile Nanotheranostic Platform to Combat Localized Cancers" in collaboration with Dr. Pranay Ranjan.

​

  • At GCRC 2023, Mr. Shubham Kumar Singh presented a novel NIR-responsive theranostic platform, MF@MSNs, designed to address Alzheimer's disease. The platform utilizes multifunctional mesoporous silica nanoparticles with a biocompatible surface coating for controlled and sustained drug release, minimizing adverse effects on healthy tissues. The focus on light-triggered drug release marks a significant advancement in the field, offering a glimpse into the future of tailored treatments for such conditions.

  • Our manuscript "Near Infrared Light Activatable Niosomes Loaded with Indocyanine Green and Plasmonic Gold Nanorods for Theranostic Applications"  has been selected for the journal back cover in RSC Biomaterials Science. This is the first cover page article from the lab.

​

  • During the BioTex’23 conference held at IIT Delhi, Ms Antony Vincy made an oral presentation on “A Label-Free and Ultrasensitive Prussian Blue-Based Dipstick Sensor for Bacterial and Biofilm Detection”. The presentation was based on the research conducted at our lab as a part of Jal Jeevan Mission which focused at developing a facile sensor for coliform detection.

  • At the 3rd International Conference on Nanomaterials in Biology held at IIT Gandhinagar, Mr. Rahul Kumar presented a poster on novel MXene-based nanoplatform named FA@ICG-Cur-Ti3C2. It integrates Ti3C2 MXene nanosheets with FDA-approved ICG, Cur, and FA for targeted chemo-phototherapy of cancer. These results highlight MXenes' potential as a multifunctional phototheranostic platform for effective cancer therapy.

  • Our manuscript "Facile Synthesis of Multifunctional Carbon Dots Derived from Camel Milk for Mn+7 Sensing, Anti-Amyloid and Anti-Cancer Activities" in collaboration with Dr. Neha Jain's lab has been accepted for publication in the ACS Omega journal.

  • Our manuscript "A Label-Free and Ultrasensitive Prussian Blue Based Dipstick Sensor for Bacterial and Biofilm Detection" in collaboration with Dr. Neha Jain's lab has been accepted for publication in the Langmuir journal.
